Test & Monitor data link between HSDII compatible devices

The HSD test unit (HSDTST) provides users with a convenient tool for testing or monitoring an Encore HSD data link. No software is required for the operation of this unit. This unit allows the capturing of the first or last three transfers and displays them on the front panel; and you can use it to identify continuous or random problems. The HSDTST unit has two modes of operation: 1) Test and 2) Monitor. The unit also supports both HSD and IBL protocol modes.

Test Mode:

The HSDTST unit, when set to the TEST mode, replaces and emulates an external device, and it allows the user to verify that the Encore HSD and cables are operating correctly.

Monitor Mode:

Setting the unit to the MONITOR mode allows the user to non-intrusively verify the proper operation of an existing link. This method captures the data contained on all 50 signal lines on the HSD cables, which is between the Encore HSD and the connected device, in either the 'Single Cycle' or 'Continuous' mode.
